The social science ideal types of ‘mechanical’ and ‘organic’ solidarity, and their typified correspondence with legal modes of punishment and compensation, are used to illuminate the way in which solidarity language in private relationships can convey and normalize assumptions about the public interest and economic order.“}, language = {nl}, number = {2}, urldate = {2023-04-13}, journal = {Netherlands Journal of Legal Philosophy}, author = {Leone, Candida}, year = {2021}, keywords = {Open Access/Volltext, Solidarität}, pages = {239--250}, } @book{middelaar_een_2021, address = {Groningen}, title = {Een {Europees} {Pandemonium}. {Kwetsbaarheid} en politieke kracht}, isbn = {978-90-6554-103-1}, shorttitle = {Een {Europees} {Pandemonium}}, abstract = {Angaben zum Inhalt: „Als de coronacrisis iets aan het licht heeft gebracht is het de kwetsbaarheid van de burgers in Europa. De vliegende pandemie bedreigde in de kortst denkbare tijd nagenoeg alle burgers, zowel in hun gezondheid als in hun werk. Wat heeft de Europese Unie ondernomen om de pandemie te stuiten, om levens te redden, en de economische val van de landen te keren? Een ongekende politieke uitdaging voor Europas improvisatievermogen, helder en scherpzinnig opgetekend door Luuk van Middelaar. De mondiale epidemie heeft tegelijkertijd een grote verschuiving van de internationale machtsverhoudingen zichtbaar gemaakt. Tussen het gespleten Amerika en een zelfverzekerd China ervaart Europa plots een nieuwe geopolitieke eenzaamheid. In Een Europees pandemonium stelt Luuk van Middelaar de vraag op scherp: wat kan Europa doen om haar strategische kwetsbaarheid om te zetten in politieke kracht, en om op het wereldpodium niet slechts speelbal te zijn in een oplaaiende strijd tussen Oost en West? Een boek over de historische ervaring van een dramatische pandemie en haar geopolitieke impact.“}, language = {Dutch}, publisher = {Historische Uitgeverij}, author = {Middelaar, Luuk van}, year = {2021}, note = {Inhaltsverzeichnis: http://digitale-objekte.hbz-nrw.de/storage2/2022/01/30/file\_4/9117918.pdf}, keywords = {Europa, Europäische Union, Geopolitik, Kooperation, Solidarität}, } @article{vandenbroucke_solidarity_2023, title = {Solidarity and support in {Belgian} residential linguistic landscapes during the {Covid}-19 outbreak}, volume = {14}, doi = {https://doi.org/10.1075/ps.22013.van}, abstract = {Abstract: „This article examines the role played by signs in the public space of two socio-economically stratified residential neighbourhoods of Ghent (Belgium) during the first Covid-19 outbreak in 2020. On the basis of fieldwork, we explore the potential of public signs as a resourceful strategy for communicating solidarity and support and the discursive construction of a community affected by this crisis. We show that in times of lockdown and social distancing, the residential linguistic landscape in both neighbourhoods became strategically appropriated by local inhabitants to communicate with neighbours and strangers and was operationalised as a vehicle to serve new communicative functions such as the conveying of solidarity and support as well as gratitude, and collective belonging. Some differences related to emplacement, language use and quantity of signs were also observed. Overall, the article documents the affective appropriation of space through Covid-19 signs during the Covid-19 outbreak and periods of lockdown in Flanders, Belgium.“}, number = {2}, journal = {Pragmatics and Society}, author = {Vandenbroucke, Mieke and De Malsche, Fien}, year = {2023}, keywords = {Gent, Solidarität, Sprachgebrauch, Wohngebiet}, pages = {210--235}, }
